Lika & Kvarner

Lika is Croatia's interior wilderness — a plateau of limestone, forest, and silence between the coastal mountains and the Slavonian plains. The landscape here is not soft. It demands respect. Plitvice Lakes, at its heart, is one of the few places that fully earns the word 'extraordinary' without any qualification.

Kvarner bay begins where the mountains decide they have gone far enough. The islands of Cres, Lošinj, and Krk each occupy a different emotional register. Cres is wild and barely visited. Lošinj, with its aromatic gardens and Austro-Hungarian villas, has been a destination for health-conscious Europeans for over a century. Krk is Croatia's largest island — varied enough to feel like several islands in one.
